About our school

Tuncurry Public School has a proud identity within the local community.

Teachers and parents hold expectations for students to learn in a caring and respectful school environment which is supportive and purposeful and where a child's success is openly recognised and valued.

Teachers work in stage teams guiding student development, and the acquisition of knowledge, skills, understanding and strategies in all learning areas.

A sequential development of curriculum outcomes is linked to programming of teaching and learning activities, assessment and reporting. Emphasis is placed upon literacy and numeracy development for all students.

Student welfare, creative and performing arts, physical education, gifted and talented education and sport are valued areas of the curriculum. A balance between academic, cultural, sporting and leadership opportunities for children is a school ideal.

School Intake Zone

Finding a School

Each NSW public school has a defined local enrolment area. This means that your child is designated to a particular school based on the permanent residential address of the primary caregiver.  Every public school reserves enough places within their school for students in their local enrolment area.

The School Intake Zone Enquiry Tool provides access to information regarding school intake zones and catchment boundaries.  The tool can be used to:

  • locate and view school intake zones and catchment boundaries
  • display school locations on the map of NSW
  • identify designated local schools for specific addresses

Starting School

Your child can start Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year if they turn five on or before 31 July in that year.  Click here for more information about starting school or visit the schoolatoz web site.
